Austin Daily Press serves lunch at 1900 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd from 11am, Monday through Saturday. Tortas, tacos, and bowls made from scratch, eaten outside on a shaded patio with a dog at your feet if you brought one.
There is no dining room. That is the first thing to know, and it is the thing people get wrong about us.
About that patio
Six picnic tables. Somewhere between 30 and 40 seats. Shade over the whole thing, plus fans and misters. Dogs are welcome and there are water bowls out for them. There is usually a table open, and there is always music on.
Here is the honest version, because you deserve it before you drive over: in August, it is still outside in Austin. The shade and the fans and the misters help. They do not repeal summer. On a good Austin day it is one of the easier places in the neighborhood to sit down and eat something excellent. In the middle of a July afternoon, it is hot, and we are not going to tell you otherwise.
What surprises people is the atmosphere. From the street it reads as picnic tables in a parking lot. Sit down for twenty minutes and it is a neighborhood, not a pit stop.
We are open and cooking in whatever the weather is doing.
What to order on a weekday
Start with the Canadian Tuxedo, $14.75. Chicken tinga, maple and black pepper glaze, garlic aioli, house pickles, three-cheese blend, toasted telera roll. Most popular torta we make.
Get the jalapeño hushpuppies. Our owner describes them as little savory donut holes, which is the best description anyone here has managed. Light, crisp outside, fluffy inside, jalapeño running through the whole bite. They show up in our Google reviews more often than the tortas do. Regulars have called them J-Pups for years.

If you want a regular order, the Chicken Tinga Rice Bowl is the one people settle into. A customer on DoorDash called ADP "healthy-ish, indulgent-ish," which is close enough to our own description that we probably owe him something.
If you are skipping bread, every core flavor build works as a bowl or as tacos. Same braise, same sauces, same pickles. Not a downgrade.

If you brought a kid, ask about the secret kids menu. It is not on the board.
The weekly rhythm
Taco Tuesday. $3 tacos, all day.
Torta Thursday. The Classic Torta, a side, and a drink for $12, all day. Pick chicken tinga, pork belly carnitas, or the tempeh-cauliflower "chorizo."
Hushpuppy Happy Hour. Monday through Friday, 4 to 7pm.
Eat here, drink next door
The Wheel is right next door, and our food is welcome on their patio. Our menu hangs over there with a QR code so you can order from your barstool and walk over to grab it.
It only works in that direction. Their drinks cannot come onto our patio, so please do not carry a beer through the gate. The Wheel is 21 and up and opens later in the day.
Parking, honestly
We have a free lot. It is tight, so take it slow. There is additional parking behind the building off Poquito Street. Street parking works too, but read the signs, because some of the nearby blocks are resident-only and Austin will absolutely ticket you.
One rule we have to hold: the lot is for customers of the four businesses on this property, which are us, JuiceLand, The Wheel, and Monarch Liquor. Please do not leave a car here and walk off to something else. We need the space for the next person who is actually eating.
The lot and the patio are both accessible.
Getting in and out quickly
Order ahead online and it will be ready when you get here. That is the fastest path if you are on a lunch break with a meeting on the other end of it.
If you are feeding the office instead of yourself, that is a different thing, and we do a lot of it. Catering starts at $150, roughly 10 people.

Common questions
Is there indoor seating?
No. Seating is outdoors only, on our covered patio.
How many seats are there?
Six picnic tables, roughly 30 to 40 seats. There is usually a spot open.
Is the patio shaded?
Yes, and we run fans and misters through the warm months. It is still outdoor seating in Austin, so plan accordingly in high summer.
Are you open when the weather is bad?
Yes. We are open and cooking in whatever the weather is doing. The seating is what changes, not us. When it is nasty out, order online for delivery, or order online and grab a quick pickup. You can also carry your food next door to The Wheel and eat indoors with a drink.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes. Dogs are welcome on the patio and we keep water bowls out for them.
Are there restrooms?
Not at ADP. The nearest ones are next door at The Wheel or at the Shell station.
Is it kid-friendly?
Yes, and there is a secret kids menu. Just ask.
Can I bring a group?
Yes. Our tables seat 8 to 10, so a group that size fits at one table. For anything bigger, message us ahead so we can plan for you.
Is there Wi-Fi?
No. Bandwidth out here does not support it right now.
Is parking free?
Yes. We have a free lot, and it is tight. Additional parking is behind the building off Poquito. If you park on the street, read the signs, because some blocks are resident-only. The lot is reserved for customers of the four businesses on this property, so please do not park and leave.
Is the patio accessible?
Yes. Both the parking and the patio are accessible.
Can I call to order?
Our phone goes to voicemail, so calling is not the fast way to reach us. Text (512) 828-6463 and you will get a quick response. For pickup, ordering online is fastest. For group and office orders, text our catering line at 737-227-8339.
When is it busiest?
Weekdays. Our weekday business runs about twice our weekend business, and weekday lunch from 11am is the busiest window we have. Saturday is calmer overall, building through the late morning to an early-to-mid-afternoon peak. A Tuesday evening is genuinely quiet.
Can I order ahead?
Yes. Order online for pickup and it will be waiting.
